2010 Gocco Calendar

My gocco calendar has been one of my favorite projects this past month. I got to create illustrations inspired by some of my favorite Minnesota and upper Midwest landscapes, and then figure out how to print them using my gocco press. I'm excited about how it all turned out. The photos could be better...I promise it looks better in person.
I'm only posting a few photos up here, but the whole calendar is up on ETSY too:

halloween

I'm going to be pretty sad when it's over. Last year's was a bit more eventful - with one of the best haunted corn mazes I could hope for...but this one has been good too. I bet Matt will be relieved not to be pulling the car over at every spookily decorated house though.

the parkway

Parkway_1

I always thought of oakland's Parkway theater as my friend. Like good friends, the Parkway made the east bay feel more like home. Though closing night of the Parkway was particularly heartbreaking, since Sydney, Amber and I didn't arrive early enough to be let in to Let the Right One In that night, I still wanted to commemorate our last Parkway experience with this little watercolor. I'm still looking for an independent theater out here in Minn...

Collaboration

We were asked to do a project which would serve as a self portrait and answer the question, "What is art?" The final pieces all had to be mailed by August 24th, 2009, to Ashley Schwellenbach at New Times, San Luis Obispo as naked/altered mail.

So Hannah and I collaborated :)

Ilsa, I can't wait to see yours! Did you see the shoe project on NHH?
