I woke up this morning to find my house and yard scattered with eggs! It was Matt's April Fools day joke for me. My favorite was the egg in my coffee cup that I reached for after thinking I had found all the eggs.
As I've gotten older Halloween may have surpassed Easter as my favorite holiday, but I still love it so much that I continue to have a recurring dream that I am walking down a street, or looking out of a window and as I spot a bright beautiful egg I realize that it is Easter morning! There's just nothing like scanning a garden and spotting those shiny foil covered chocolate eggs up on a tree branch, or staring at cherry blossoms and noticing that, upon closer examination, the slightly darker pink color is a pink plastic egg! My favorite thing to draw as a kid was the "Easter morning" scene - an elaborate garden scene with beautiful eggs hiding under leaves and in branches. I even illustrated the egg-carrying-birds that I believed helped the bunny get the eggs up to the higher hiding places...
