The candle light hike at Split Rock State Park was the final candle light event of the year. I am sad they are over...but it's probably good to stop heading out of town every other weekend on these winter trips. Hopefully now I'll have a little more time for art projects.

Grand Marais is a quiet town with a few galleries, shops and restaurants, and many places to sit and imagine that you're at a beach on the north coast...almost felt like I was back home in Trinidad, CA.

as long as matt and I can escape and see Lake Superior a few times a year I think I'll be ok without the ocean. Duluth, and the coastline above was beautiful. next weekend it's a trip to the Chicago Renegade Craft Fair and my second great lake!
