I can see the tips of icicles when I look out any of our windows. And it seems like the crows are even louder these days. The other day they were so loud that I felt I'd be missing out if I didn't go watch them for a while at the park down the street from us. I'm always hoping they'll be spookily perched on the playground equipment...but so far I've only seen them in the trees.

It was fun to see the crows when I came back to Minn. They still fill the sky at dawn and dusk. And sometimes they hang out in the trees around my backyard during the day.

Usually I have to go searching for them, but the crows decided to land on the trees near my house today. They were the inspiration for one of my gocco prints.

I had forgotten that one of my favorite things used to be early morning bike rides. In San Luis Obispo late night art projects would often lead to early morning rides back home before the sun was up and I'd get to see the town almost empty, with just a few people out to open up the shops. This morning Matt had to be at school by 7 so I got up early too, while it was still dark, and took a little bike ride around downtown Rochester to see what it was like in the early morning. The lighting was beautiful. I must get more early morning rides in before it's too cold.
